Ivan Medici was born in Italy in 1975. During his teenage years he always felt the need to help others and inquire into life’s questions. So in the year 2000 he left for the East in search of knowledge for himself and eventually to help others.
Since then he took long-term journeys in the East studying, deepening different types of healing arts and philosophies, mainly between India, Nepal, and Thailand, going back to Italy and Europe to practice and share the different knowledge.
He started to learn about the practice of Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda in India.
He also become very much interested in Buddhist philosphy and psychology. During this time, Ivan went on several long-term Vipassana medititaion retreats.
In the year 2003, Ivan discovered the beauty of the art of Traditional Thai Massage. As a result, he spent many winters in Thailand studying and practicing with different Thai and Western teachers, and especially with the teachers from the “Sunshine Network”, at the school “Lahu Village Research Centre” situated in the hills north of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Mainly, he had the pleasure to study with Luarino Bertelli, Andrea Baglioni, Itzhak Helmann, Felicity Joy, Kaline Alyana Kelly, Krishnatakis, David Lutt, and master Pichest Boonthumme. From all of them he learned a wide variety of approaches to Thai Massage, from the most traditional static, to the dynamic approach and the integration with craniosacral and osteopathy and the anatomical knowledge of body treatment.
Ivan is an authorized teacher from the international school “Sunshine Network” from northern Thailand, and the “Federazione Italiana Traditional Thai Massage” in Italy. He’s still deepening his training taking part in advanced courses every year and assisting at the beginner’s course retreats at the Sunshine House in Greece. He’s been sharing Thai massage in Italy and several countries around the world with passion, love and dedication.
